History of the Historical House
Home

The Historical House was built in 1899 by F. L. Blanc as a rental to gold miners. Blanc was the first preacher of Julian and a very industrious man. He also had a mercantile store on Main Street, a lumber company, three other rental houses, ran a livery service and had eight children. Blanc owned the Historical House until 1935 when the gold mines started to peter out and he sold the house to his friends Harvey and Ruby Morton. The Morton's raised their three children in this house. The house was bought in 1993 by the Abrams from the children of Harvey and Ruby. The children were then in their sixties. The photos on this page are from the family albums of both Blanc and Morton families and you will see them displayed in the Historical House.
